When you step off your plane at O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB), our dedicated Black Girls Travel Too Ambassador will be there to extend a heartfelt welcome. This marks the beginning of an extraordinary journey that spans 12 days and 11 nights, filled with self-discovery and a plethora of exciting new experiences.

After settling into your comfortable home away from home, the afternoon is all about you. It’s your chance to recuperate and rejuvenate after your long flight, or perhaps you’ll choose to explore the charming, winding streets of Johannesburg. The towering high-rise buildings create a unique, almost tunnel-like ambiance, making it a captivating place to wander.

As the sun begins to set, we invite you to join us for the highly anticipated Black Girls Travel Too official Welcome Dinner. This special evening is not just a dinner; it’s a delectable welcome feast, set against the backdrop of one of Johannesburg’s premier restaurants. Welcome to the start of our incredible South African adventure! After a hearty breakfast together, we’ll embark on a journey to the iconic township of Soweto. Known as South Africa’s most famous township, Soweto holds a special place in history as the former home of two Nobel Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. It’s a living symbol of the New South Africa, a place that carries both the wounds of its Apartheid past and the vibrant promise of its future.

Our day in Soweto will be a powerful exploration led by a knowledgeable local BGTT tour guide. They will unveil the birthplace and the bedrock of the anti-apartheid struggle, revealing the rich historical significance that permeates every cultural site in the area.

In the afternoon, we’ll shift our focus to Johannesburg, and more specifically, the dynamic community of Maboneng. Here, we’ll take a tour of Foxx Street, one of the most famous streets in Maboneng. It’s a place where you’ll encounter a delightful array of bars, handcrafted treasures, unique artworks, custom designs, and so much more.

After our enriching tour, we’ll come together for lunch at the home of one of South Africa’s notable residents. Here, we’ll share a meal and reflect on the day’s experiences.

The remainder of the day is yours to continue embracing the vibrant spirit of Johannesburg. Whether you choose to hop on the MetroRail to explore different districts of the city, visit one of the fascinating museums in the Inner City, stroll through Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, or delve into the historical charm of Old Jo’burg, the choice is yours to make the most of your time in this captivating city.

Day 3:

Today is all about you and your desires. What does that mean, you ask? Well, it means that in JoBurg, this day is yours to shape as you wish, as it marks our last day before we set off for the captivating Mother City, Cape Town.

If you’re looking for recommendations on how to make the most of your day, we’ve got you covered. After a satisfying breakfast, make your way to Sandton Mall. While it’s the most popular mall in South Africa and offers a plethora of designer stores and more, don’t feel obligated to stay there all day.

For lunch, we highly recommend Proud Mary’s in Rosebank. Their fried cauliflower is nothing short of heavenly, and it’s the drinks and food combination that truly makes this spot shine.

After your delicious meal, take a stroll to the Rosebank Market. Here, you’ll discover a treasure trove of souvenirs, unique custom designs, and so much more to bring back memories of your time in JoBurg.

To wrap up your day, we suggest dinner at one of our favorites – Ché Argentine Grill, the home of tantalizing empanadas and freshly made chimichurri, an authentic Argentinian delight. This sauce, with its delightful texture, is filled with bits of chili, garlic, spices, lemon, and fresh coriander, adding a burst of flavor to your evening.

Today marks the day we bid a fond farewell to JoBurg and extend a warm hello to the enchanting Mother City, Cape Town, South Africa. Upon our arrival in Cape Town, our dedicated 5-star transportation team will be at your service, ensuring a seamless transfer to our exquisite 5-star accommodations nestled within one of Cape Town’s most prestigious communities.

Our accommodations are strategically located, offering the convenience of being less than a 10-minute walk from Cavendish Square, a shopping mall boasting over 180 stores to cater to your retail desires.

Once you’ve settled into your luxurious rooms and acquainted yourself with the impressive hotel amenities, including a scenic walking trail, a pristine lap pool, multiple dining options, and more, we’ll come together for our official Welcome Dinner. Cape Town is renowned for its culinary delights, and rest assured, we have handpicked one of our favorite restaurants to kickstart our culinary journey. Here, amidst the beauty of the Cape Town winelands, we’ll immerse ourselves in a proper wine tasting. As you sip on exquisite wines, your gaze will drift over the sprawling vineyards, creating a backdrop of pure natural beauty.

Following our tasting adventure, get ready for one of the most memorable meals of your entire journey. Following our Table Mountain adventure, we’ll take a short break and then regroup for an immersive dinner experience. Get those thinking caps on, because what you cook is what you’ll savor. It’s a hands-on culinary journey where you’ll create and enjoy a delightful meal.

Good morning! As we savor our breakfast, it’s essential to remember that today marks our official last day here in captivating Cape Town before we part ways tomorrow for our adventure to Victoria Falls.

If you’re in need of some inspiration for how to make the most of your final day in Cape Town, we’ve got you covered once again. After breakfast, consider paying a visit to the vibrant neighborhood of Bokaap. It’s renowned for its narrow cobbled streets, adorned with charming, colorful houses that create a picturesque scene worth exploring.

Alternatively, you may choose to head over to Camps Bay, celebrated for its fine white sand, natural rock swimming pools, and the stunning backdrop of the 12 Apostles mountains. While you’re there, you’ll discover a plethora of delightful eateries where you can indulge in a satisfying lunch.

Post-lunch, don’t miss the opportunity to explore the V & A Waterfront Mall, where you’ll find yourself surrounded by a multitude of stores, offering everything you could desire. And for those seeking designer items, they have you covered as well.

Today is the day we bid farewell to the Mother City, which has truly showered us with its hospitality and culinary delights. We’ve been treated to delicious meals and savored the finest wines South Africa has to offer, and now, it’s time to set our sights on Victoria Falls.

Upon our arrival at Victoria Falls, our top-tier transportation team will be there to whisk us away to our final accommodations. We’ve saved the best for last, and as you step into our new dwellings, you’ll be welcomed in true Zimbabwean fashion. We won’t give away all the surprises just yet, but trust us, it’ll be well worth the anticipation.

Once we’ve settled into our lavish rooms, we’ll come together for a Welcome Lunch that’s nothing short of a feast. You can indulge to your heart’s content and savor as much as your tummy allows.

After lunch, take some time to explore the beautiful grounds of our exclusive hotel. By the way, we’ve taken over the entire property, ensuring a private and personalized experience.

Later in the evening, we’ll gather for a special dinner where we’ll reflect on our unforgettable time in Cape Town. It’s a moment to cherish before we embark on our exciting adventures in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia.

After indulging in a delicious breakfast that’s sure to fuel our adventure-filled day, we’ll set off for an unforgettable day trip to Botswana. Here, we’ll embark on not one but two exhilarating safaris in a single day. The excitement is palpable, as we’re almost certain to encounter the magnificent big 5 or, at the very least, some of these incredible creatures. In fact, on our last outing, we were fortunate enough to witness them all. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for another remarkable safari experience!

Following our awe-inspiring safari adventure, we’ll gather for a hearty lunch that’ll replenish our energy for the journey back to Zimbabwe. Once we return, the choice is yours. You can take a refreshing dip in the pool, embark on a leisurely walk (just remember not to wander too far, as you might come across a curious elephant or two), or simply revel in the comfort and beauty of your own room.

Later in the evening, we’ll venture into town to savor dinner at a quirky and beloved local spot. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to feast on popular Zimbabwean dishes that are sure to delight your taste buds. After dinner, the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy as you see fit, whether it’s unwinding, exploring, or simply relishing in the magic of the moment.

Day 10:

It’s the day you’ve all been eagerly anticipating! After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll set out on a remarkable adventure to witness the majestic Mosi-Oa-Tunya, which translates to “The Smoke That Thunders.” This was the original name of the falls, but today, it’s more commonly known as Victoria Falls. Our expedition will take us to all 16 viewpoints of the falls from the Zimbabwean side, offering a comprehensive and awe-inspiring perspective of this natural wonder. While there are three additional viewpoints on the Zambia side, it’s important to note that the absolute best views of Victoria Falls are on the Zimbabwean side.

Following our captivating tour of the falls, we’ll come together for a delightful lunch. For those seeking an extra thrill, many of you will have the opportunity to try activities like zip-lining and more, if you wish.

After lunch, we’ll return to our tranquil accommodations for some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Later in the afternoon, prepare for a truly unique experience as we gather for dinner aboard a luxurious steam train. Our journey will take us to the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge, where you’ll have the chance to soak in a breathtaking sunset before indulging in a delectable 5-course meal.

Once dinner is complete, we’ll return to our accommodations, and the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy as you see fit. Whether you choose to unwind, reflect on the day’s adventures, or simply savor the tranquility of the night, the choice is entirely yours.

Our Final Day!

In case you haven’t heard, let us share it with you now. It’s often said that our experiences are so enriching that you might need a vacation after your vacation. With that in mind, today is a day for you to enjoy as you please. It’s a day of complete freedom—whether you want to relax, take a refreshing swim, catch up on your favorite Netflix series, or explore the town to discover beautifully woven purses and more. The choice is entirely yours, and the day is yours to shape.

However, as the evening approaches, we’ll come together for a special and official Farewell Dinner aboard a stunning boat, where we’ll dine while gently sailing along the Zambezi River. It’s a moment to reflect on our incredible journey, spanning from JoBurg and Cape Town in South Africa to the stunning destinations of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia.

After dinner, you’ll have the freedom to do as you please, just as it has been throughout our journey. The evening belongs to you, allowing you to savor the last moments of this unforgettable adventure in your own way.

Farewell…

Today marks the moment when we bid you a “see you later,” for it’s never truly a goodbye.
